Beanie Sigel - "What You Talkin' Bout" (Jay-Z Diss)
Beanie Sigel becomes the latest former Roc-A-Fella artist to go at the former boss (I'm still waiting for Memphis Bleek to grow a pair and stop being Hov's hype man...not that there's anything else there for him). I'm not entirely sure what to think about the situation, but as a bonus, I've included his very dope guest appearance on OB4CLII.

Jay-Z - "Empire State Of Mind" feat. Alicia Keys (Video)
The visuals for Hov's latest single. I don't know about BP3 as a whole, but this is definitely one of the songs I love off the album.

Drekidd - The Fix (mixtape)
This is another one of those mixtapes I've been waiting on for a while. I've posted a couple of songs from this California artist's project over the past month (the title track is ridiculous). This actually dropped last week and I'm sorry for my tardiness in posting it but, as I explained earlier, the last couple of weeks have been maaaad busy for yours truly. Hit the jump for the tracklist/link.

Toki Wright - "Devil's Advocate" [Music Video]
I'd like to introduce those of you who are still sleeping to up and coming Rhymesayers artist Toki Wright. Coming out of Minneapolis, Wright is heavily influenced by his fellow lablemates Brother Ali and Slug, while still forming rhyming with his own unique style and perspective. This track comes off of his debut album A Different Mirror (in stores now). I've also included a couple tracks he's released relatively recently. "All Things Considered" dropped yesterday via Twitter and is a collaboration he did with South Dakota emcee Trey Lane. "The Feeling" features Brother Ali and is off of A Different Mirror. Enjoy.
Peace, Love, & Hip Hop,
N.Buck

Wale - "Letter" feat. John Mayer X "Bittersweet" feat. Colin Munroe
I guess I'm in a Wale State of Mind. I dropped the very dope "Fly Away" yesterday on What's In Rotation, Vol. I and I'm gonna hook you up with two more tracks from the DC spitta. Wale wanted "Letter" to be on the final tracklist for Attention: Deficit (dropping November 10th), but for some reason it didn't make the cut. The on the second track (released a couple weeks ago) Wale gives his rendition of the Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony."

What's In Rotation, Vol. I: We Must Be Heard
I'm proud to introduce my new bi-monthly series, What's In Rotation. Each installment will be composed of new and old songs that I've been playing heavily as of late. Hit the link for the tracklist/link
01.) Ludacris, Willie The Kid, & Busta Rhymes - "We Must Be Heard"
02.) Donnis - "Over Do It" (The ATL-emcee just goes hard into this track)
03.) Lil' Wayne - "Run This Town (Freestyle)" (the best material I've heard from Weezy in years)
04.) Clipse feat. Cam'ron - "Popular Demand (Popeye's)" (great to hear new material from one of my favorite groups. Till the Casket Drops is going to be nuts)
05.) Big Boi feat. Too $hort & George Clinton - "Fo Yo Sorrows" (first song released off of this OutKast member's debut solo album)
06.) Snoop Dogg feat. The-Dream - "Gangsta Luv"
07.) French Montana feat. Ma$e & Jadakiss - "New York Minute Remix"
08.) Dahlak - "Never Know"
09.) Jay-Z - "Blueprint 2" (an underrated track, on a waaaay underrated album)
10.) Bobby Creekwater - "Farewell" (one of the hardest tracks I've ever heard, BC simply murders the Ye beat)
11.) Atmosphere - "Trying To Find A Balance" (an atypical Slug track, but good nonetheless)
12.) Brainstorm - "Bang It Out (Freestyle)" (another dope track from the Dyme Def emcee off of their Bang It Out series)
13.) XV - "Awesome" (a great track off of the very solid Everybody's Nobody)
14.) K. Sparks - "Overtime (prod. Hannibal King)" (yet another amazing lyrical flourish from one of my favorite up and coming emcees. This one comes off of his amazing Super Senior "mixtape")
15.) Unknown Prophets feat. Slug - "Never"
16.) Brown Bag All Stars - "What It's All About"
17.) Jedi Mind Tricks feat. Planetary - "I Against I"
18.) Tassho Pearce feat. Apathy - "Own The World"
19.) KnowMads - "Sunrise" (simply a beautiful song by one of my favorite up and coming groups)
20.) Fresh Espresso - "Something New"
21.) Wale - "Fly Away" (the DC spitta gives us his rendition of Lenny Kravitz' classic)
22.) Raekwon feat. Inspectah Deck & Masta Killa - "Kiss The Ring" (the last song off of OB4CLII provides us with a perfect way to wrap up the tape)

K. Sparks - Super Senior
I'd like to apologize to my readership for my lengthy absence. I've been crunched for time the past couple weeks with midterms, papers, and races and it's left me with little time to breathe let alone post. I promise to get back to more frequent posts starting...now.
I've posted a few songs from this 2DBZ and DJBooth co-signed project and it's finally here. It's unfair to call this composition a mixtape, as it sounds better than nearly every album I've heard this year (and every mixtape I've heard this side of The Warm Up). Hit the link for the tracklist/DL.
Peace, Love, & Hip Hop,
N.Buck

Drekidd - "More"
I posted some of this guy's stuff earlier. Personally, I like "The Fix" more, but this is still a respectable effort.

Shwayze - "Corona & Lime"
On a day that doesn't remotely remind me of summer, I find it ironic that I'm posting this track (which really sounds like a track to bump while rolling with the windows down in the car). It's not particularly deep lyrically, just an ode to the opposite sex.
Let me tell you about a girl I know,

State of the Artist - "Shapeshifters"
I'm ashamed that I hadn't heard of this 206 trio until earlier last month. As evidenced by the title track off of their latest free release, the group has a distinct, laid back West Coast (aka the Fresh Coast) attitude. Be on the lookout for more SOTA.
Peace, Love, & Hip Hop,

Wu-Tang Clan - "Triumph" x 1992 Demo Tape
This song is an example of why I'm a huge Wu-Stan. Rare for a single, it has no chorus, just classic verses from 8 of the 9 original members (and one by Cappadonna) and an intro by ODB. Instead of a hook, the track relied purely on lyrical skill and epic beat to propell itself into hip hop lore (I may or may not know every lyric). The track comes off of the groups sophomore LP and simply goes as proof of why Wu in their prime were on top of the game. I've also included a rare pre-36 Chambers Demo Tape that I came across earlier today (not their best stuff, but a piece of hop hop history none the less). Enjoy.
Peace, Love, & Wu,
N.Buck

Mistah F.A.B. - "Follow Me"
For all extensive purposes, the Hyphy movement is dead. With that in mind, artists of that movement such as E-40 and Mistah F.A.B. have had to evolve their sound in order to remain relevant. As evidinced by this Illmind-produced track, FAB is going to have no problem adapting. Check the hard-hitting track from the Bay Area rapper.

Brainstorm (Dyme Def) - "Mafia Music Freestyle" [No Beat Is Safe]
I apologize to my daily readership that I haven't been more frequent with my posts the past couple days. School/crew has been hitting me pretty hard and the gf is coming into town this weekend, so I've been concerned with other things.
Anyway, here's the latest cut off of Dyme Def's No Beat Is Safe series in which they rhyme over other people's beats (they've been taking suggestions via twitter). In this edition, Brain raps over Officer Ricky's finest. I've also included the three previous cuts from the series (so far, my favorite is "Bang It Out"). Sex Tape EP dropping this winter...
